Comic Strips and Animation
I've been writing and drawing comic strips since I was in elementary school. In my teenage years, I started a few series: Dr. Disaster (a failed mad scientist and his pets, a dog and an octopus); Carmen the Caveman (Prehistoric high-jinks ensue); Surviving Grade 7 (Junior High high-jinks ensue). These series gave me years of practice at drawing and storytelling.
I am most influenced by one panel comic strips such as Gary Larson's The Far Side, Jim Unger's Herman, and Dan Piraro's Bizarro. When it comes to cartoons on television, my biggest influences have been Home Movies, Family Guy, and South Park.
As of 2016 I have started a YouTube Channel called "Talking Pictures" that features my animatics.
